Features that I hope Evernote will have soon

Evernote

Here’s a list of features, in no particular order, that I hope Evernote will have soon.

1 - I’d like more transparency as to how secure my backups are. I’m probably being a bit cheeky here, the service is free (for now), and I guess its not in Evernote Corporation’s interest to have a big data backup screw-up. But I’m putting a lot of my important shit in there, so you can understand my paranoia. On the other hand, I do have the client installed on 2 computers, so I know there are at least 2 backups that are sort-of safe.

2 - Something clear in their contract about code escrow. And data escrow. What happens to my data if Evernote goes out of business? What if a 3rd party administrator comes in and says, hey we’ll make more money out of this dying company if we hold our user’s data to ransom. I want to know my data won’t be held ransom. Maybe the code escrow details are in the agreement somewhere, I haven’t had a good look yet.

3 - a way to share specific notebooks with specific users. For example, I’d like to share my bills and invoices file notebook with the wife.

4 - some nice big button that allows me to draft this blog post in Evernote, then post directly to this blog. All within Evernote. Why not.
